		Having learned basket weaving over 20 years ago, Carol Sandhammer-Pires has been sharing her love of basket weaving through classes and crafting opportunites for over 15 years. With this experience, she not only weaves from patterns of other established weavers, but also creates designs of her own.      She has offered her baskets for sale along with giving instruction while living in upstate New York, Alaska, and Texas. With her move to New Hampshire she opened The Basket Weaver Shop to share her love of designing and creating baskets. Her style of weaving is traditional and functional using reed and other wood products.  Baskets are usually treated with a wood or clear stain, although some remain the natural color of the reed and wood.       Along with the finishing process, Carol also dyes all her own colors and occasionally dabbles in wood working for some of her designs.  She also has experience in repairing cherished worn baskets.      To accommodate color choices and designs, special orders can be taken.  If you are interested in learning to weave your own basket creations, give Carol a call. Classes are taught in a comfortable setting with everything you need at your fingertips. Supplies and tools needed for class are provided and are also available to purchase. Sessions are held as beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  Workshops are also available.
