Roger Robar is homegrown in everything he does, still living in the same town whose high school he graduated from in 1955. It comes as no surprise that his favorite class, in high school, was art, which he excelled in. It is also no surprise that this love shows in everything he does. He has been married to the same lovely lady for 43 years and has two sons. Roger is the surviving member of a set of twins.

Mr. Robar worked for Whitney Construction in Franconia for 37 years and has countless house as a volunteer for AHEAD's Neighborworks. He has served on the Executive Board of Lisbon Main Street and in 2004 gave over 250 hours of volunteer time to Lisbon Main Street Economic and Design Initiatives He is the recipient of the 2005 Dwight K Taylor award for community involvement  His commitment to the community was further acknowledged in 2006 by receipt of the "Outstanding Volunteer of the Year" from Lisbon Main Street, Inc. with a 2005 Excellence Award from the NH Main Street Center in Concord.

He finds inspiration in everything that he does and everywhere that he travels, but his love and passion seems to be centered around two things, his photography and railroading whether it's model trains ( HO scale ) or his volunteer work on the Lisbon Railroad Station restoration project. By the end of 2006, Roger had accrued nearly 700 volunteer hours for this historic project.

Roger still prefers to shoot his images, using traditional 35 mm cameras, however he has just made the jump to digital with his recent purchase of a Canon 20 D. In the past , his work has been exhibited at the Conway Scenic Railroad, the Mountain View Resort and Spa in Whitefield, NH, the Lisbon Lilac Time Festival and the Annual Fall Festival of the Arts in Lisbon, NH. The gallery is very proud to call Roger one of their own.
